About Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam
Initially, all education systems, including medicine and technology, were under the control of a state agency, known as the Department of Public Education (DPI). This was developed in 1874. Later, facilities were developed for various educational levels, such as health and technology, and DPI for general education only.
On September 5, 1975, elementary education was separated from the DPI and a separate Directorate was developed at 7.7.77 for elementary education. Finally, DPI is only for high school and high school students. But on March 29, 1985, the state government filed its letter No. AR. 20/85/1, the secondary stage was again separated by the creation of a new Directorate for Secondary Education and the post of the first DPI was re-made as the Director of Higher Education. In other words, the current system of the Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has continued since March 29, 1985.
