Agarwood is valued in high class perfumery as a fixative and is much priced by European perfumer for mixing their best grade scents. At present, the price of 1kg agarwood is Rs. 2.50 Lakh in the International Market whereas, one litre of essential oil extracted form agarwood fetches a few US $ to 50,000 US $ depending on the quality.
