of All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2022 for the
admission into Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across the
country, for the academic year 2023-24.

About Sainik Schools
Sainik Schools are residential schools affiliated to CBSE and managed by
Sainik Schools Society under Ministry of Defense. They prepare cadets to
join the National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy and other training
academies for Officers. Sainik Schools, along with 1 RIMC and 5 RMS
(Rashtriya Military Schools), contribute 25% to 30% officer cadets to NDA
and INA. It is an English Medium school.

Eligibility Criteria of Sainik School Admission
Educational qualification(s) for candidates who wish to appear for
AISSEE 2023-24 session:
Class VI: Candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as of
31.03.2023. Admission for Girls is open in Class-VI only in all Sainik
Schools.
Class IX: Candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as of
31.03.2023. They should have passed Class VIII, from a recognized
school, at the time of admission. Admission to Class IX is not open
for girls.
Examination Fee of AISSEE
Application fee for candidates appearing for AISSEE 2022:
- SC/ST: Rs.500/-
- Others: Rs.650/-
The exam fee is also required to be paid online through payment
gateway, using debit/ credit cards or internet banking or PAYTM
Wallet.

AISSEE Qualifying Marks
A. A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools, if he/
she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40%
marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2023. However,
admission will be based on relative merit (in AISSEE) of candidate in
his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness and
verification of requisite documents.
B. However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to
Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category. They will be admitted on
the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within their
respective categories, subject to their meeting the eligibility
requirements, medical fitness and verification of requisite
documents.
C. In case an SC/ST/OBC(NCL) category candidate comes in the general
merit on his/ her own, he or she would be admitted against general seat
and will not be adjusted against the reserved share of SC/ST/OBC(NCL)
seats.
