Educational Qualification: Minimum qualification is MBBS. Preference will be given to the candidate trained by NACO at one of the NACO designated training centre.

About ASACS
The Assam AIDS Control Program started as a State AIDS Cell which was
established in 1992 in the office of the Director of Health Services,
Assam under the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) to implement
the National Program AIDS Control Officer (NACP) Phase I. A state AIDS
program officer in the rank of Jt. The Director of Health Services was
appointed to execute the program and other officers and staff were also
appointed according to the guidelines. The Assam State AIDS Cell had
followed the National AIDS Prevention Policy, Govt. from India to
implement the AIDS Control Program in Assam. The first phase of the
National AIDS Control Program ended in 1997 and lasted until 1998.Meanwhile, the Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) was formed and registered in October 1998 under the Society Registration Act 1860 of which Ministry, Health and Department of FW. Govt. Assam is the chairman of the Board of Directors and the chief secretary of the Department of Health and FW. is the president of the Executive Council.
Phase II of the NACP began in January 1999 for a period of five years, that is, until 2004 and the program runs until March 2007 and ASACS implemented the AIDS Control Program according to the objectives and guidelines of NACP II. Then, Phase III of the National AIDS Control Program began from 2007 to 2012 and since 2012, Phase IV of the National AIDS Control Program is being implemented in the state until 2017.
