DOCUMENTS/CERTIFICATES TO BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW

e) Caste certificate issued by Govt. of Assam for candidate seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC/MOBC, from the competent authority indicating clearly the candidate’s Caste, the Act/Order under which the Caste is recognized as SC/ST/OBC/MOBC and the village/town the candidate is ordinarily a resident of.

f) BPL certificate/EWS certificate issued by Govt. of Assam. (wherever necessary)

g) Physically Handicapped certificate issued by the competent authority to Physically Handicapped persons eligible for appointment to the post on the basis of prescribed standards of Medical Fitness and if reservation is claimed by candidate for the post.

About Assam Public Service Commission


The Assam Public Service Commission was established on April 1, 1937 under the government. of India Act, 1935 with Sir James Hasslet, retired ICS London officer, as its first director. When the new edict was drawn up in 1951, five more officers, mostly retired ICS officers, went to James Hazlitt for an additional period. When India became a republic, the rules of the Commission were established by the Governor of Assam in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Article 318 of the Indian Constitution and entered into force on September 1, 1951. Sheri Kameswar Das, a well-known professor in Assam, was the committee's first informal chairperson since the 1951 APSC regulations. She held that position until July 1952.
