About Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA)
Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that brings women together to form self-help groups (SHGs), build capacity and earn a living. SeSTA is the culmination of efforts to begin development work to empower communities in remote rural areas of northeast India. SeSTA aims to make systematic efforts for the social and economic development of the Middle East by strengthening the capacities of poor communities and strengthening their institutions to facilitate their escape from poverty and meaningful participation in the global economy. Women from vulnerable families believe that through solidarity, support, and education in their groups, and with each new skill they learn, they can make a difference. This sense of collaboration helps them work with their traditional plans to build a better village and community. For example, SeSTA teams in remote areas can significantly collaborate with rural communities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): no poverty, no hunger, gender equality, good health and wellbeing, and water-resistant villages; Air through access. Provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy.
