CBSE CTET 2023 | CTET July 2023


An official short notification has been released by The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) July 2023 for for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8.

Candidates who are eligible and interested in building their Assam career pursuing school teaching jobs in Assam as their profession can apply online for CBSE CTET by following the steps given in this article.

CBSE will be conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in the month of December 2022, at various examination centres across the country.

About CBSE CTET 2022


CTET is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8.

Eligibility Criteria of CBSE CTET Exam


For Classes I-V or Primary Stage

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.

OR

“Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” “(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”. 

For Classes VI-VIII or Elementary Stage

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

OR

Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

All the candidates have to pay a certain amount as application fee. Category-wise application fee is as given below:

How to apply for CBSE CTET Examination?


Candidates may apply online for CTET December 2022 by following the steps given below

1. Go to the Official Portal of CBSE CTET (Link at the bottom).

2. Click on "New Registration".

3. Tick the Checkbox and "Click here to Proceed".

4. Register your account.

5. On the next stage, fill the application form with both personal and educational details.

6. Upload necessary documents.

7. Pay your fee as per your category.

8. Submit and save your form.

  • Starting date of submission of online application: 27th April 2023
  • Last date of submission of online application: 26th May 2023
  • Issue of CTET Admit Card: To be updated later
  • Date of CTET Examination 2023: July to August 2023
